Overview:
Have you had a client who resisted a prescribed treatment? If you answered “yes” then this training is just what you need. Dealing effectively with resistant older adults requires a careful assessment of the underlying reasons and utilizing methods that will change the resisting behavior. This presentation will provide you with information and tools that will help you identify the root causes of resistance, how to have difficult conversations with our clients and their caregivers, and effective strategies to use. Lastly, participants will gain additional tools to increase collaboration through adherence, instead of compliance. Participants will leave feeling empowered to work successfully with the most resistant client!
