Why is self-care so important? And who could imagine that you could be unethical for not practicing self-care? As helping professionals, we inform our clients/patients of the importance of self-care, while many of us are overworked and under-performing due to compassion fatigue or burnout. In this unique presentation, Jamie Lackey, LCSW, will guide participants through the ethical codes pertaining to self-care, the importance of self-care as a prerequisite for adequate patient/client care, as well as strategies for self-care practice. Jenny’s approach is simple yet effective, as she breaks down practical methods to incorporate self-care into your work. Attendees will feel renewed encouragement to fuse self-care practices into their everyday lives.
