Overview
In the clinical practice environment, effective communication and teamwork are imperative for quality provision of care services, and helping professionals are always looking for ways to enhance communication techniques in the hope to potentially improve outcomes. We know that communication is not only what we say, but includes how we say it – nonverbal cues and many other considerations that can impact these interactions. Laura Frohboese, LCSW, a social worker in the ER of a Level 1 trauma center, will start our day with a reflection on the benefits and considerations of humor in the helping professions. Continuing our day of learning, Jason Lesandrini, the Ethics Architect, will explore the techniques and best-practices of improv to improve communication – focusing on rules of improv, tenets to improve pathways in the mind, case scenarios, non-verbal cues, and much more. Reflecting on ethical components that overlap many of these interactions, this training will explore unique ways that we can communicate with our clients and team members that may help us be more mindful of these critical interactions and may help improve outcomes. Don’t miss this interactive and engaging day of learning to add important skills to your toolbox!
