Overview:
Why is self-care so important? And who could imagine that you could be unethical for not practicing self-care? As helping professionals, we inform our clients/patients of the importance of self-care, while many of us are over-worked and underperforming due to compassion fatigue or burnout. In this unique presentation, Jenny Buckley, an experienced hospice nurse, and blogger, will guide participants through the ethical codes pertaining to self-care, the importance of self-care as a pre-requisite for adequate patient/client care, as well as strategies for self-care practice. Jenny’s approach is simple, yet effective, as she breaks down practical methods to incorporate self-care into your work. Attendees will feel renewed encouragement to fuse self-care practices into their everyday lives.
