ODL 277: Dementia and Planning for the Future: Living Wills, Goals of Care, Advance Directives, and Honoring People’s Wishes

1 Credit Hour: Worldwide the number of people who will experience dementia is projected to increase from 47 million in 2015 to 132 million by 2050 (Gaster, et al. 2017). End-of- life planning is important for everyone, but standard advance directives are often not helpful for people who develop dementia. This session will explore the many options available for helping guide advance care planning for dementia, with special attention to the use of dementia-specific advance directives.
